Description
1961 United States Mint Set. Official U.S. Mint annual set containing 10 coins - 5 from Philadelphia and 5 from Denver, cent through half dollar, 90% silver dime, quarter and half. Original Mint packaging in cellophane and cardboard holder.
Struck during the early Kennedy-era silver coinage, just before silver was removed from circulation in 1965. 1961 is notable for exceptional quality control in Mint Sets, often yielding high-grade Franklin halves and Washington quarters. Contains the final years of the Franklin half and silver Roosevelt dime before clad conversion, a complete snapshot of pre-clad American coinage in Mint State.
