Description
Up for auction is a Victorian or Edwardian era stiletto sword cane, carrying mid-century presentation provenance. The blade spine features a crisp hand-engraved inscription reading, "To: Jerry Blevins, a True Friend / From: Fielding P. Williams, Sr. M.D.". The presenter, Dr. Williams of Huntingburg, Indiana, was a prominent physician and a distinguished World War II veteran who served as a Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. This exceptional defensive piece transitions seamlessly from a sophisticated gentleman’s stick into a formidable stiletto weapon, showcasing a long, triangular blade intricately embellished with stippled floral vine scrollwork near the collar. The handle features a polished dark wood grip crowned by a high-relief metal lion's head pommel, accented by an intricate middle band of deeply carved bone in a classic leafy acanthus motif. Housed in a hand-carved wooden shaft with geometric accent work near the brass ferrule, this personalized heirloom offers a superb, double-market centerpiece for any dedicated antique weaponry, military history, cane collector, or regional Indiana collection. Blade approx. 25" long. Located in bedroom #3. All bidders are solely responsible for removing their own items. Please bring your own help.
