1978 Uncirculated Copper Lincoln Memorial Cent

This 1978 Lincoln Memorial Cent is a stunning uncirculated specimen, showcasing its original mint luster and vibrant copper surfaces. Composed of 95% copper, this coin features the iconic profile of Abraham Lincoln on the obverse and the classic Memorial design on the reverse. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, as indicated by the absence of a mint mark, this piece represents a high-quality example from a decade where copper was the primary composition for the American penny. The sharp details and lack of wear make this an excellent addition for collectors looking to fill a gap in their Memorial cent series with a high-grade copper coin.

Condition: This item is in uncirculated condition, maintaining much of its original mint luster and a reddish-orange copper hue. The surfaces appear clean with sharp details on both the obverse portrait of Abraham Lincoln and the reverse depiction of the Lincoln Memorial. The mint is Philadelphia, indicated by the absence of a mint mark. The metal content is 95% copper and 5% zinc. Historically, this coin was produced during the final years of the solid copper composition before the United States Mint transitioned to copper-plated zinc in 1982. This is a business strike type, intended for general circulation but preserved in a high state of conservation. No formal numeric grade has been assigned by a third-party grading service.
