Winter Farmyard Scene with Chickens

Executed as an oil on board, this lively winter farmyard scene depicts chickens and roosters pecking at snowy ground beside a white outbuilding. The composition is rendered in a vibrant impressionistic style with thick impasto brushworkthroughout the landscape and plumage. Signed, but not legible, and retains a Marquis Art and Frame gallery label on the verso. 26 x 29.75 inches (frame); 20 x 24 inches (board). The artwork is in excellent overall condition with a stable paint surface and no visible signs of restoration, cracking, or loss. The ornate gilded frame is structurally sound with only minor instances of shelf wear to the finish.
