Description

SERIAL NUMBER: N/A, BARREL: 8" CALIBER: .75, MFG: Early 19th century. This flintlock pistol was manufactured by Samuel Henry Staudenmeyer, a former apprentice of the famous London gunmaker John Manton. Staudenmayer made quality pistols for aristocratic clientele, including the Duke of York and Prince of Wales. This untouched original flintlock pistol was likely one of a pair of dueling pistols. Features a 8" octagon barrel that has been lacquered to appear to be damascus. The lock, hammer, tang, screws and trigger guard are lightly engraved. The lock has a sliding safety behind the hammer. Marked Stadnemayer on the lock and London on the top barrel flat. Walnut stock is checkered at the grip. Has horn nose cap and swivel loading rod. CONDITION: Fine. Very nice condition overall. Original brown damascus type finish on barrel is about 90%. Lock action works properly and safety works in half cock. Lock legends are strong. The bore is clean with scattered frosting. Stock is very good with handling marks and minor dings. A very nice example of Staudenmayers work. ANTIQUE
