Description
SERIAL NUMBER: 54177. BARREL: 21 1/2". CALIBER: 9.3X74R. MANUFACTURED: 2008-2024. The Chapuis Progress Series 3 Classic RGEX is a premium, fast-handling, side-by-side horizontal express double rifle manufactured by Chapuis Armes in St. Etienne, France, during its correct historical production window spanning from 2008 to 2024. Built explicitly as a lightweight firearm optimized for driven big-game hunting, it is chambered in the classic 9.3x74R European cartridge. Mechanically, it features high-speed automatic ejectors and a low-profile, scalloped boxlock action that has been meticulously scaled down to a narrow 28-gauge shotgun frame size to reduce weight to a nimble 6.6 to 7.1 pounds. The rifle is highly distinguished by its "Royal-style" deep-relief engraving scheme, which displays a continuous half-relief hunting scene smoothly wrapping around the rounded receiver flats, showcasing a wild boar on one flank, a deer on the opposite flank, and a buck trophy on the underside. This ornate steel chassis is seamlessly hand-fitted and inletted to a highly figured, premium Grade 4 luxury walnut stock featuring a pistol grip, an English-style cheekpiece, and a hand-rubbed oil finish.
CONDITION: Very Good. 98%. The stock and forend show handling / storage marks. The wrist cap and trigger guard have some freckles / small frost spots present. The bores are bright with sharp rifling. Operates normally. MODERN 26-406
