Description

SERIAL NUMBER: 27926-S. BARREL: 6". CALIBER: .357 MAGNUM. MANUFACTURED: circa 1988. This is a rare and highly unique transitional Israel Military Industries (IMI) Desert Eagle .357 Magnum, bearing serial number 27926-S. Manufactured in Israel circa 1987-1988, this specific pistol catches the exact historical window where the IMI factory was phasing out the original Mark I platform and introducing upgraded Mark VII controls. The frame is a true Mark I baseline architecture.

What makes this piece highly collectible is its scarce factory-original configuration. The "-S" suffix on the serial number explicitly tracks its genuine matte stainless steel frame, which beautifully contrasts against the matte black carbon steel slide and 6" barrel. Leaving the factory during the late-1980s transition, it features the updated early Mark VII slide assembly complete with the improved three-serration slide catch for enhanced mechanical leverage.

This pistol has been carefully fired and enjoyed, making it an excellent dual-purpose investment for both platform historians and legacy shooters. It comes equipped with premium, period-correct upgrades including ergonomic Hogue wraparound rubber finger-groove grips and a vintage Millett adjustable target rear sight. The Millett sight features crisp windage and elevation click adjustments and intentionally hangs slightly past the rear of the slide to maximize the weapon's sight radius for superior accuracy.
CONDITION: Very Good. 90%. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There are a few small spots of finish wear on the bottom of the slide. The slide also shows some very light edge wear. Key edges of sights have a glow-in-the-dark coating applied at some point. Operates normally. MODERN 27-273
