BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS: TRANSFER PROCEDURE/POLICY

Bontrager Real Estate & Auction Service is required to follow federal mandates and New York State law, regardless of what the laws are in your locality.
-New York State law requires background checks for all individuals who purchase a firearm, black powder, or ammunition in New York State. For out of state bidders, this means we will only ship firearms (including black powder) and ammunition to federal firearms licensees. *Curio and Relics does not fulfill this requirement.
-LONG GUN PURCHASE REQUIREMENTS: Driver's license with photo ID and current address is required, and the buyer must also pass the NYS NICS background check.
-SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE PURCHASE REQUIREMENTS: Driver's license with photo ID and current address, pistol permit with semi-automatic certification, and the buyer must pass the NYS NICS background check.
-HAND GUN PURCHASE REQUIREMENTS: Driver's license with photo ID and current address, pistol permit, and the buyer must pass the NYS NICS background check. Coupon from county of origin must be obtained in order to take possession of the firearm.
-MONROE CO, NY FIREARM PURCHASERS: Monroe County requires their own Bill of Sale form to be completed by the buyer (you) and seller (Bontrager Auction) prior to adding any firearm to your pistol permit. This form MUST be requested from Bontrager Auction prior to getting your coupon from Monroe County.
-AMMUNITION PURCHASE REQUIREMENTS: Driver's license with photo ID and current address, and the buyer must pass the NYS NICS background check.
-FEES: Because NY State charges for background checks, you will also be charged $9.00 for firearms and $3.00 for ammunition, to cover the cost. The buyer is responsible for paying this fee at the time the background check is completed.

If the status of the background check is DELAYED, all state and federal guidelines must be satisfied before the firearm can be released. If the status is DENIED, the firearm and/or ammunition will not be transferred to the buyer.

***Bontrager Real Estate & Auction Servivce WILL NOT hold any firearm so that the purchaser may obtain the required elements to purchase. If any buyer is unable to purchase the firearm due to lack of federal or state requirements, the firearm will be sold to the backbidder.

There is a 2 week limit from the day the auction closes to store any purchases from this auction. If the buyer is unable to pick up within 2 weeks, the purchase will be sold in a future auction and the buyer will receive the new purchase price instead of a refund.
