Built on a premium 1952–1954 commercial 98 Mauser action, this spectacular one-of-a-kind "Guild-style" presentation rifle stands as a masterpiece of custom mid-century Texas firearms folk art. Signed by master Texas gunsmith and engraver Bernard N. Elliott, his initials (B.N.E.) are beautifully hand-engraved amidst deep, flowing scrollwork on the steel floorplate. The entire wooden walnut stock is masterfully encased in high-quality, hand-tooled custom leather featuring an elegant floral pattern on the buttstock, a traditional leaf pattern on the fore-end, and a striking black forearm cap with a classic white-line spacer. Anchoring the rear is a period-correct Pachmayr "White Line" recoil pad, perfectly complementing a highly collectible vintage Weatherby Variable 2x-7x scope made in West Germany on matching vintage rings. Featuring a factory-matched, nitro-proofed bolt with a traditional three-position wing safety, this rare crossover of elite Belgian engineering, top-tier West German optics, and historic Texas master artistry handles as smoothly as glass.
