Description

A single factory-sealed US military-style Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE) component produced by SOPAKCO Packaging of Mullins, South Carolina. The assembly comprises a Chili with Beans entrée pouch contained within a cardboard sleeve, alongside a flameless ration heater, representative of the individual components provided in a set of 3 meals for daily field operations. The clear plastic outer wrapper is printed with the words Meal individual and the manufacturer details. The inner brown pouch features a purple Julian date code stamp reading 0034, indicating production on the 34th day of 2010. The cardboard sleeve is printed with the menu name and carries the USDA inspection mark for establishment 1290, alongside a production code 13:04 2 1 19 2 Z X8200 SPB. The flameless heater includes instructions in both English and French with a 2009 copyright date. The nutrition facts table on the sleeve has several values obscured by factory-applied black overprinting. Dimensions: H approx. 19 cm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The item remains in its original, unopened factory-sealed plastic packaging. The internal cardboard sleeve shows minor shelf wear and compression to the corners and edges. The black overprinting on the nutrition table is consistent with manufacturer-applied corrections for commercial distribution. The contents are past their recommended shelf life and are sold as a historical military collectible for display or research purposes only, not for human consumption.
