1985 Lincoln Memorial Copper Penny Uncirculated

1985 Lincoln Memorial Penny Uncirculated Copper Plated Zinc

This 1985 Lincoln Memorial Penny is an exceptional uncirculated specimen featuring a brilliant copper luster. The obverse showcases the sharp, detailed profile of Abraham Lincoln, while the reverse displays the classic Lincoln Memorial design. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin represents a high-quality example of mid-80s coinage, preserved in a protective flip to maintain its original mint red color and strike clarity. As a copper-plated zinc issue, it serves as a perfect addition for collectors looking to complete a high-grade memorial cent set or for those specializing in uncirculated business strikes from the 1980s.

1985 Lincoln Memorial Penny Uncirculated Copper Plated Zinc Cent

Condition: This 1985 Lincoln Memorial cent appears in uncirculated condition, retaining a significant amount of its original mint luster and a bright copper-colored strike. The surfaces show minimal handling marks consistent with a coin that has not been in general circulation. The mint for this specific coin is the Philadelphia Mint, indicated by the absence of a mint mark under the date. The metal content consists of a copper-plated zinc core, which became the standard for the series in mid-1982 to reduce production costs. Historically, the Lincoln Memorial reverse was designed by Frank Gasparro and was used from 1959 through 2008 to honor the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. This is a business strike type coin intended for circulation but preserved in a collector flip. The grade is not professionally certified but is visually assessed as uncirculated.
