Description
This mechanical mantel clock features a black adamantine wood case in a Neoclassical architectural style with fluted gray columns and faux-marble bases. The cream dial displays black Arabic numerals and bears a cursive script reading Ingraham, with the manufacturer name E. Ingraham Co., Bristol, Conn., U.S.A. at the bottom. A large orange and white paper label on the reverse provides setting directions and confirms the maker and 1824 establishment date. The clockcontains a spring-driven eight-day movement with a chime coil and cast-metal lion head handles on the sides. Measures approximately 10.5 inches tall by 19 inches wide and 7 inches deep. The dial face shows significant finish loss and cracking near the eight and nine o'clock numerals. The black case has small chips and wear to the edges, and the pendulum is currently detached.
