Description
1969 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint-Georges" standard 750ml format red burgundy wine from France.
The Producer & Vineyard Royalty
• The Domaine: Domaine Henri Gouges is the absolute historic benchmark estate of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Henri Gouges was a foundational pioneer in Burgundy during the 1920s and 1930s, fighting aggressively against wine fraud and becoming one of the very first to break away from massive négociants to bottle his own wines directly at the estate (Mise au Domaine).
• The Vineyard (Les Saint-Georges): This is widely considered the finest, most prestigious Premier Cru plot in the entire appellation, universally regarded as Grand Cru caliber in quality. It produces incredibly deep, muscular, and structured Pinot Noir that reveals extraordinary layers of black fruit, animal musk, leather, and truffle as it ages over many decades.
