Attributed to Keith Haring – Heart Figure Over...

Cityscape – White Gouache on Black Paper. Striking monochromatic composition featuring a large anthropomorphic heart-shaped figure rising above a stylized urban skyline. Executed in bold white lines against a deep black ground, the work immediately evokes the graphic vocabulary associated with Keith Haring: simplified human forms, radiant marks, rhythmic contours and an energetic visual language centered on universal symbols of love, movement and human connection.

At the center, the heart becomes both body and emblem, with outstretched arms extending across the composition while radiating lines suggest vitality and emotional energy. Beneath the figure, a compact cityscape formed by geometric towers and dotted windows creates a dynamic contrast between the organic central symbol and the rigid architecture below. The restricted black-and-white palette gives the image an especially strong, poster-like presence.

Signed “K. Haring” vertically at the lower right of the composition. The reverse shows a rectangular paper label bearing a purple “THE KEITH HARING ESTATE” stamp with the characteristic radiant-baby emblem. A further faint circular/oval stamp or impression is visible toward the upper-left area of the reverse. These markings are described solely as visible on the object and have not been independently authenticated.
