Description
Cream Scene” – Ink on Paper. Charming original-style drawing depicting Charlie Brown and Snoopy enjoying ice cream, accompanied by additional small Peanuts figures in a relaxed outdoor setting. The composition captures the warmth, humor and visual simplicity that made Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts one of the most recognizable comic creations of the twentieth century.
Charlie Brown stands at left holding an ice-cream cone, while Snoopy appears seated beside a tree at right, enthusiastically enjoying his own treat. Between them, smaller figures and loosely rendered ground details create an intimate, playful scene. Schulz’s characteristic economy of line is reflected in the expressive faces, concise contours and effortless sense of personality conveyed through minimal marks.
Executed primarily in black ink on paper, with spontaneous linear work and selective cross-hatching that give the illustration the appearance of a finished cartoon study or presentation drawing. The work bears a large “Charles M. Schulz” signature in the lower right area.
The reverse displays visible transfer/impression of the composition and a purple ownership/address stamp reading “CHARLES M. SCHULZ, 2163 COFFEE LANE, SEBASTOPOL, CALIFORNIA” at the lower right. These markings are described exactly as visible and have not been independently authenticated.
