Description
AU-1963 Silver Franklin Half Dollar - About Uncirculated. 90% silver, .3617 oz ASW, final year of issue for Franklin half series (1948-1963). Denver or Philadelphia mint, P mint has no mintmark.
Obverse: Benjamin Franklin by John R. Sinnock. Reverse: Liberty Bell with small eagle, 35% lighter strike typical of late Franklins. AU grade shows light high-point wear on Franklin's cheek and Liberty Bell lines, but retains 80%+ original luster and sharp details.
1963 is the last Franklin before Kennedy half replaced it after JFK's assassination. Classic 90% silver half, last of the full Bell Lines era, highly collected as end-of-series type.
