Description
This lot includes five Roosevelt dimes from various dates, featuring a portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt on the obverse and a torch flanked by an olive branch and an oak branch on the reverse. First issued in 1946 to honor Roosevelt following his death in 1945, the dime design symbolizes liberty, peace, and strength. Silver content depends on the year, as dimes dated 1964 and earlier were struck in 90% silver, while later issues feature a copper-nickel clad composition.
