10 Vintage Classics Illustrated Comics

Final Issue No. 169, First Men in the Moon, Ben-Hur & More

This group rounds out the collection with some of the most interesting books yet, including No. 169, Negro Americans: The Early Years (1969), the final new title published in the original U.S. Classics Illustrated series. Its painted cover features Frederick Douglass, George Washington Carver, and other figures from early African American history. Also here are two late-run titles that saw only one U.S. printing (Nos. 168 and 169), a 15¢ cover-price No. 154, and sci-fi favorites from H.G. Wells and Jules Verne. From the same Centennial Elementary school library collection.
