Description
This Canadian military combat ensemble consists of an olive green OG-107 combat coat and its matching quilted liner. The coat is constructed from heavy-duty cotton and features a four-pocket configuration: two slanted breast pockets and two large bellows-style hip pockets, all secured by buttons. Functional design elements include shoulder epaulettes, a drawstring waist, and a button-front closure with a protective storm flap. The collar is finished with a tan corduroy lining. The interior quilted liner is removable and retains two original white fabric labels. The primary label identifies the manufacturer as Frontenac Overall Ltd. and the item as a Man's Combat Coat Liner, dated September 1971. The size is noted as Size 2 Short Medium, intended for a height of 63 to 67 inches and a breast measurement of 37.1 to 41 inches. The National Stock Number is 8405-21-840-8378. A secondary instruction label provides care and usage information in both English and French, identifying the garment as "Liner: Coat, Combat, GS.". Condition: The ensemble is in field-used condition, displaying fabric fading and softening throughout from service and laundering. There is visible wear and light staining concentrated on the tan corduroy collar. A handwritten mark consisting of a circled letter A in black ink is present on the upper right chest. The manufacturer labels are fully legible, though they show fraying and wear at the edges. All buttons appear to be present and functional.
