Description
The 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar was introduced following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in November 1963 as a tribute to his legacy. The obverse features Kennedy’s portrait, while the reverse displays the Presidential Seal. Designed by Gilroy Roberts and Frank Gasparro, this was the only year regular-issue Kennedy Half Dollars were struck in 90% silver. Each coin contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of silver, making it a notable piece of American coinage history.
