Lunar New Year Stamp Sheets

Canada Post commemorative stamp sheets from the Lunar New Year series. This lot comprises two panes for the Year of the Monkey (2016) and one pane for the Year of the Rooster (2017). The Year of the Monkey stamps (Scott #2884) depict the figure of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, rendered in a red, gold, and blue colour palette with foil accents. The Year of the Rooster pane (Scott #2969) features stylized embossed gold roosters on a solid red field. Both designs include bilingual English and French titles and gold-toned Chinese calligraphic blessings in the margins, including phrases for harmony and good fortune. Each pane contains 25 stamps at the Permanent domestic rate, identified by the maple leaf P symbol. The stamps are lithographed with multi-colour printing and metallic foil application. All sheets are presented in their original clear retail packaging with descriptive backcards. Dimensions (measured from visible inch scale): H 30.5 cm x W 21.6 cm. Condition: Mint never hinged (MNH) condition with full original gum. The stamps exhibit very fine centering and intact perforations. The sheets remain sealed in the original retail plastic sleeves, which show minimal shelf wear.
