Star Trek Philatelic Items

A collection of officially licensed Star Trek 50th Anniversary philatelic items issued by Canada Post in 2016. The group contains several distinct components celebrating the half-century of the franchise: A Prestige Stamp Booklet containing fifteen stamps, over twenty pages of imagery from the series, and five exclusive souvenir sheets. The cover artwork depicts Captain James T. Kirk and Spock with the USS Enterprise. A set of eight Official First Day Covers, with each envelope featuring different collectible artwork of characters including Kirk, Spock, Dr McCoy, and Montgomery Scott, as well as iconic starships. Two identical lenticular souvenir sheets inspired by the episode The City on the Edge of Forever. Each sheet incorporates two five-dollar Canadian stamps with lenticular motion effects, depicting transporter sequences and the Guardian of Forever portal. All items are marked TM and copyright 2016 CBS Studios Inc. and Canada Post. The production credits on the reverse list the design team as Lowe-Martin: Kosta Tsetsekas, John Belisle, Mike Savage, and Adrian Horvath. Condition: All items are presented in their original, unopened clear plastic retail hanging sleeves. The contents appear to be in mint, as-issued condition.
